Hi Blog! Long time no update, anyways, I had a photoshoot a few weeks ago with my girlfriend, her co-worker Natalie, and their boss. They’re putting together an advertisement to be printed in Preston Magazine for their salon, so we shot our friend Carissa, in the art gallery beside their salon. I shot this photo at little Sams house for Terry because he was too lazy to go do it himself, and figured I might as well shoot it while I’m out there taking Sams photo. Anyways this is Darryl he’s from Ottawa, and although I’ve never seen him skate, apparently he rips with the style of a 20 year old, but he’s only 14 or 15. Color decided not to run his photos in their little gold book special edition mag, but I’m sure he’ll be in some future issues.

I got referred to a new Ottawa band called Grace Over Diamonds to do some photos for their press kits, albums and what not. They really liked some work I had done for Visceras Recital a few years ago, and wanted to try to get something similar (actually they asked for the exact same thing). Not wanting to duplicate work, mostly because that’s boring, I had them meet me at this spot that I told them I had checked out. Truth is, I ran out of time and never made it to the location, luckily things sort of fell together and I managed to get some pretty cool photos. Here’s one of the 7 or so, that they chose to use from the sets:

Tomas spent the weekend helping some friends put in hardwood floors, 2 years ago he used to do it full time. Apparently after 2 years, 1 weekend of flooring is enough to turn your legs to jelly and make standing up an effort. So Tom grabbed a seat beside me while I shot 1 million photos of Aaron trying to land something. I just got a new D300 and I’m stoked to say that for the 2nd time in 3 days, my 8gb Sandisk Ultra III card got corrupted and it fucked up the middle frame of a sequence of Keith gnarring out. I’m glad his landing was sketchy or I’d feel extra bad. So tomorrow I make the calls to Vistek and Sandisk and Nikon to try and figure out WTF is going on with this.

I’ve been out shooting quite a bit, and skateboarding.. well not so much, mostly just shooting. It’s pretty embarassing how terrible I’ve become at skating, actually it’s really embarassing, I just can’t find the time to get out and do it like I used to, I guess my devotion to golf is part of the problem. I’ll update soon with some skate photos, for now here’s a photo I shot in the studio a few months ago that I never got around to editing. Ilona Bohlman did hair, and Ellie McMillan did the make up, the model is Grace from Cover Models Management.

It’s been a fun weekend, I revisited my old drinking hole (Ralphs) with Mindy, Colin and Rob on Friday night.. the place hasn’t changed one bit. Saturday hit up some rock and bowling for my birthday, then down to the pump.. Basically I drank more this weekend than I have all year. Good times I think? Happy St Patty’s day to everyone, drink green beer.

A shot from last week with Whitney one of Vireshs newer models, I’ve been shooting a bit more lately, and the spring is coming soon, I actually can’t wait. I bought some new golf clubs that I need to hit. I’ve also spent the past month and a half working on www.wheelsandwax.com a community based website that I run for action sports photographers. I managed to integrate the existing phpBB message board (including the user database) into Joomla and combine it with Coppermine for a Photo Gallery section. Another photo of Alison from Cover Models Management, we shot this one outside on sparks street in Ottawa. It was actually pretty cold outside, I already miss the summer.

This is a photo of Erik from Cover Models that I shot about a month and a half ago, I’ve just finally gotten around to going through all the photos, it’s amazing how quickly I can get overwhelmed with photos to go through and edit, I think I’ve got 30 or 40 photos left to edit. I started watching the Sopranos today, season 1, disc 1 & 2.. not bad stuff.
