This is one of my favourite shots from Miami, it was a day where we spent the afternoon skating this pier which used to be the old highway between Miami and South Beach. The wooden benches grinded so well that even I was hitting them. I think this is the only skate photo I have in my blog so far with no flashes used, just straight up telephoto sitting on my board at the other end of the pier. Background props to all the other guys that came to Miami with us, can’t wait to go back.
Here’s a photo from Miami that I’ve been holding on to, I have about 15 or so photos that I’ve sent out to Color Magazine, hoping they might take one. This is Nick, with his busted knee doing a step up to crooks in South Beach Miami.
Miami was one of my first times hanging out with Nick, I witnessed him Hulk Hogan a t-shirt, nearly cry then focus a board when we hid the car keys on him for 20 minutes, and challenge me to a drinking competition at least twice a day. Sweet dude, who finally got a trick on camera with me despite his busted ass knee. It should also be mentioned that Nick is terrified of the ghetto. For now here’s a portrait of Nick, well more like a snapshot with available light, on the pier where we spent the afternoon getting sunburns and skating some sweet benches.
This would have been one of my favourite photos from the trip if, Manny wasn’t hanging out in the background, and Aaron had landed this. Unfortunately he couldn’t ride away from this one, so that’s too bad. I was pretty stoked to get this somewhat stock yet creative angle at NMB. Most people shoot wide angle fish from the stairs, but the filmer Jack was doing that.. mind you I did shoot another trick that Aaron did land from that angle. Either way here’s Aaron being a bitch and not sticking this front nosegrind on the famous blue hubba’s at NMB in Miami.
