It was great before everything was capped (except the $100 tickets for skating) you could skate the same ledge for 4 or 5 tricks in a row. I don’t even remember when this photo is from other than this passed summer, it’s of Keith doing a backside heelflip down the set, I can’t even remember if he landed it, I’m pretty sure he did. The digital version is even worse than the film.. ugh

Nothing like bringing film in (finally) that you shot months ago, I shot mostly digital while I was down in Miami, but did break out the Bronica (SQ-A) a couple of times for a few photos. I prefer this one over the digital one I shot, the slide looks super clean (my scanning skills are lacking). So here’s Aaron doing a front nose down the blue hubbas at NMB.

It’s fun going through folders long forgotten on your computer, especially when you’ve taken as many photos as I have in the past 10 years. I found this scan in one of those folders; it’s a photo of a street in New York city, shot with my holga, taken sometime in 2005. Its pretty strange to think about how many photos I’ve taken, and that for the most part, I will never lay eyes on 99% of them ever again. Maybe one day when I’m old I’ll sit down and go through them all.

I’ve been holding onto this shot for a few months, we shot it back in March or April just after the snow melted. It was supposed to be a re-shoot for Keith doing a back tail, but then Marty was doing it switch. I used my Bronica SQ-A with a 150mm lens hoping to really bring the parliament buildings into the photo, it would probably work better with the 220mm lens, but I don’t own one. Still, I really like the lighting and loose comp on this one.

The weather is nice, the weather is nice! It went up to 20 this week, so I’ve been out skating and shooting. This was the first time out with my new Bronica, it was definitely nerve racking shooting film, I was too focused on the timing (which is slightly off) and the lighting (which could also be improved) to even notice the bad composition. Ah well, I was stoked just to get properly exposed slides back with fairly even lighting. Tomas did this wallie about 30 times for me, 24 times for my bronica and a few times for my digital.

So finally after owning a Holga for almost 3 years, I put it to use with my pocketwizards and some strobes, Aaron was warming up on this ledge with some tailslides so I snapped 3 photos with the Holga and some illford hp5 400 film. I figured my holga was around F8-F11 so I got my flashes firing somewhere in between that, and had at it. The best one unfortunately was a double exposure, from me forgetting to advance the film, so this is the second best.
