It’s that time of the week again, another photo of Aaron doing another trick, this time at Vic Island on the hard to skate step up ledge. Aaron did a couple of these kickflip back tails for me, so I shot a horizontal and a vertical, ended up being vertical FTW. Tried a new post processing with this photo, using this Alien Skin software I recently purchased, it’s pretty rad, lets you pick a film type and it does it’s best to make your photo look like that film. Saves me tweaking around in photoshop and coming up with something lame.. although I might have gone overboard on this one.

I should pretty much have a category called “photos of Aaron” because I seriously have hundreds of them. I’m really hyped on this photo, I hope we get a chance to go back and shoot a 3 flip on this bank. It’s super hard to skate, really tough run up that is up hill and on the greatest of Canadian Asphalt. Anyways Aaron can do kickflips to fakie on it.. I can do kickturns.

I had a photoshoot with Jamie and Christianna from Cover Models Management tonight, we shot on location on this roof downtown, it was pretty fun, really nice weather for the last day of summer. I have a lot of photos to go through still, but this one caught my eye.

You’d be surprised how often I see Neil, and how often I don’t take his photo. Today he claimed ollie over this hand rail in 2 tries, maybe 3, I’d say it took him about 7 then he did it 5 or 6 times in a row so Aaron could film from different angles. I just sort of shot this angle for fun, with some sloppy lighting. Neil ollie #4

Nothing like bringing film in (finally) that you shot months ago, I shot mostly digital while I was down in Miami, but did break out the Bronica (SQ-A) a couple of times for a few photos. I prefer this one over the digital one I shot, the slide looks super clean (my scanning skills are lacking). So here’s Aaron doing a front nose down the blue hubbas at NMB.

It’s fun going through folders long forgotten on your computer, especially when you’ve taken as many photos as I have in the past 10 years. I found this scan in one of those folders; it’s a photo of a street in New York city, shot with my holga, taken sometime in 2005. Its pretty strange to think about how many photos I’ve taken, and that for the most part, I will never lay eyes on 99% of them ever again. Maybe one day when I’m old I’ll sit down and go through them all.

Aaron wasn’t the only one skating in Miami, but it sure seems that way, I’ve got about 5x as many photos of him, than anyone else from down there. This spot was a bit of a bust, getting tossed out of there in the first 5 mins, so we went back cause i fucked up the photo the first time, didn’t do much better the second time, timing it late, and working an angle to not get the filmer in it. This heelflip is way harder looking than it looks. And check out Aaron’s Blog if you like video clips of skateboarding, he updates a few times a week with small clips from all the guys you see on here.

Another photo from a few weeks back that I shot with Erin Heather (mua). This is Debbie from Angies Models in Ottawa.

Back to the same spot again, I don’t even know how Tomas does this stuff. He makes everything look so smooth and easy, maybe that’s why I’m taking photos of him, and not the other way around.
