Keith – switch ollie

July 30th, 2006 No comments

Keith has too much pop, he should lend me some for a couple of weeks till I find mine again. Went out shooting again tonight, then ended up at Orleans park skating with Chris and Tomas, good times, I’m terrible, Chris and Tomas are not.

Aaron 50-50

I shot this from 2 different angles, and I couldn’t make up my mind which one I liked more, the other is vertical and much tighter, but i’ve always been a fan of loose composition. Aaron 50-50 somewhere in Ottawa.

Charlie – Polejam

Charlie doing polejam #3 over this super steep one at Landsdown in Ottawa. About 5 minutes later we got the boot. Charlies pretty rad, he landed it 4 or 5 times because he wanted to get it just right.

Aaron gap to 5-0

Went out shooting tonight, I should have charged all my batteries, being a moron, I did not. Shot with 2 flashes, would have preferred to have my 3rd one in the mix. I don’t think anyone has skated this since they’ve put in this rail. Aaron landed it a couple of times.

Tomas – Blunt

Went shooting tonight for a couple of hours, after Aaron, Charlie and Keith took off, Tom and I went for a skate in the market. We stopped by the Dom for a quart and a bit of cooling down. We met two nice people, Tara and Matt, Tara is looking into purchasing a camera (and selling out like I did..) so she had some questions. We hit up landsdown on the way home, but got the boot pretty quick.

I shot this same photo about a year ago maybe less, with Provia 100 film, but it didn’t turn out the way I had wanted it to, so we did a re-shoot. I think Tom did about 20 in a row.

Aaron – Fs Board

July 21st, 2006 No comments

Aaron is a pretty rad dude, he’s always so stoked on photos, and for some reason telling him “I’m bored, I’m only taking one more.” makes him stick tricks perfectly. This spot was one of my downtown spots growing up about 10-12 years ago, it has banks, stairs and ledges across the street. I was never good enough to pop (or even think about it) onto this rail, but Aaron doesn’t have much trouble laying down fs boardslides or noseslides on it.

The best part was the crazy french man 15 floors up yelling at us. “mark my words I’m calling the police”

Tomas – Wallie

I moved back to Ottawa last week in the middle of the night.. we arrived at 4:15am to be exact. In my first week back I’ve already gone skating, played golf, took photos of Tomas, and have gone swimming a million times.. basically all the stuff I felt I was missing out on while being in Montreal.

Long story short, Tomas is so much fun to go shoot with, wallie over the barrier.

Keith Pop Shuv

Keith is a quiet kid that comes skating with Tomas and Aaron sometimes, to be honest, his name could be Heith, him and I haven’t said more than 3 or 4 words to each other in the times that I’ve met him. I guess we’re both just quiet people. The first time we shot was pretty much a disaster, he didn’t land anything, my flashes weren’t working, and the photos just didn’t turn out. This time things came together but I still think the results could have been better.

I ran out of space, and couldn’t back up more, not to mention his pop is enormous. I had a great idea / composition using another staircase to frame it, but he’s just got too much pop so that didn’t work out. Maybe we’ll re-shoot this some day with a fish instead of a 50mm.
